Robotek HD: A Fantastic Looking RPG With A Great Blend Of Strategy And Action

Roboteck, from developers Hexage, is hands down the most addicting and fun game I’ve played yet on Android. Just like one of Hexage’s other games Evac, you’ll find a perfect chill soundtrack from kubatko as well as their signature neon graphics which are quite stunning to say the least. The game is based on a world campaign where you must win and take over nodes scattered across the world map. The difficulty is marked for each node and the “power” required to enter each. You’ll start off with 50 power points and gain more along with experience points, more is awarded for defeating a more challenging node than you might be ready for. You can go through this whole game without paying a dime, but if you choose to, you can purchase upgrade coins that will unlock a recharge node to gain power back. OK, enough of that let’s get to it after the break.

In the actual battle, you and your opponent start with your own lone robot where, in turn based style, will start a slot machine after selecting your type of move. The yellow mode lets you protect yourself with firewalls (a shield), hack your opponent to steal their robots, and drain your opponents energy to replenish yourself. The blue attack mode lets you fire off powerful lasers, microwaves that can penetrate your opponent’s shields for damage, and shocks to disable them from firing back until they repair themselves. The important red mode lets you call in robots to help protect you from fire and add to your arsenal of attacks with more fire power, each having their own unique characteristics. Don’t get caught without any helper robots though as you’ll be finished off by your opponent within minutes. The more matches you get in the slots, the more powerful that action becomes or multiple lesser powered actions will be performed (up to three). There is a lot of luck built into this game in conjunction with skill, and with coins you can upgrade your actions luck factor that will greatly help you out in the game. A new addition is an on-line multiplier mode to challenge others which is a huge bonus for Robotek’s replay value. I have no idea how this awesome game is still free, and though it can be challenging and frustrating at times, this is the only Android game I’ve ever continued to play over and over again for months. The battles can be short and rewarding or lengthy and stressful. Don’t forget to check out the trailer below to see how cool of a game this is and grab it while it’s still free from the market right here or via the QR code below.

5 Blog Tips to Boost Traffic

traffic
Whether you are new to blogging or have some posts under your belt, everyone would like to be getting more traffic. If you are unsure how to do this or maybe just need a little extra “oomph”, you’re in luck because that’s what this post is all about – GENERATING TRAFFIC.

The list below contains some techniques that I have personally put to the test and found successful. Properly executing one or more of these strategies will definitely help improve the readership of your site.

1 – Make Some Influential Friends
Sometimes it really is who you know – kinda. If you gain the attention of some well-known people in the niche you are blogging about, it can really help you out in the form of links on their site, them blogging about you, collaboration on projects, and so on. There are a lot of ways to go about this but the ones I have found most successful are consistently linking to some of their posts from your blog, tagging them with your Facebook page, creating striking guest posts for them, and even just emailing them directly and introducing yourself and your blog. One thing is for sure, once you have gained the attention of 1 or 2 “heavy hitters” in your area, your traffic will grow by leaps and bounds.

2 – Leverage Facebook and Twitter

Let’s face it, if you aren’t incorporating these guys into your business then your growth is going to be anemic at best. But if you really work these mediums they can pay off handsomely.

If you have 10,000 followers on Twitter, then you have 10,000 willing participants to receive your tweets about your posts and blog in general. Don’t underestimate the power of following targeted users, many times they will follow you back and stay with you. And if they don’t you can just un-follow them. You should tweet every time you publish a post and at different intervals through the day to make sure you reach the lion’s share of your followers. (There are several applications that can schedule this for you.)

A well-constructed Facebook Fan page can also generate nice amounts of traffic for you once you start leading your readers there. One effective way to do this is to ask readers to “Like” you, which can be done through Twitter, your blog, or any other platform of your choosing. Ask and ye shall receive, at least a percentage of the time.

3 – SEO

This is a huge topic and we will hit many parts of this in greater detail in later posts, but SEO can’t be overlooked if you really want to draw readers. The All-In-One SEO plugin makes it really simple to optimize your WordPress site and increase your rankings in Google and Bing.
You should also try to get as many backlinks as possible from reputable sites, as this can really increase the ranking of your blog in search engines. This can be done by commenting regularly on well-respected blogs in your area, which usually allow you to have a link to your own blog, as well as writing and publishing articles that have links to your content. It can be a bit of work but you will usually get back what you put in.

4 – Write Great Content

Well written content that helps your readers in some way will almost always get you a solid reader base over time. All of the other blog tips to increase traffic simply serve to speed this up. If you did nothing else but produce terrific content, you would eventually have a ton of traffic just from doing that. However, if you don’t have good content, none of the other tips are likely to help.

5 – Constantly Try New Formats

Some of the most successful bloggers I know blog in many different formats, from video, to audio, to over the telephone via Skype. Plus, a good video series or audio series can really do a lot to add credibility to your blog. Try these out from time to time and you will find that they can really boost your traffic.
What are some ideas you have or some ways you have increased traffic in the past? Let me know in the comments.

The Most Important Blog Tip Of All Time

In my career as a blogger, there has been one tip that has helped me more than all the other tips combined. It has also served me well as an internet entrepreneur, business owner, father, husband, brother, son, and as a human being in general. Were I to gauge another person’s success or failure in this industry, the proper execution of this one tip would trump all others in my eyes.
Are you ready for it?

NEVER QUIT, EVER !!!!!

- Even when it looks like there is no hope

- Even when others are laughing and saying you will never do it

- Even when it seems like you are talking to no one but yourself

If you are determined to succeed in this business, this is the only tip that you need to follow religiously. Every other successful blogger and internet marketer is already executing this tip, guaranteed. Not only that, if you ask any other successful person about this tip, I promise they will agree that it is essential to success.

Now, I’m not trying to sound like a motivational speaker, or spurt a bunch of corny cliches at you, but I know the art of never giving up is a success maker. This doesn’t mean that you should continue to pour time and money into a failing business model, absolutely not. But what is does mean is that you don’t let the fact that you had a failing business model deter you from jumping right back with another business model, and another, and another if necessary until you do succeed. The most successful and interesting people I know failed several times before perfecting their strategies, and it paid off BIG TIME!

Some important points to remember:
- During his younger years, Thomas Edison was told repeatedly that he wasn’t very bright and had trouble holding a regular job. He also failed thousands of times as an inventor, before finally perfecting the light bulb.
- Bill Gates dropped out of Harvard and started “Traf-O-Data”, which failed miserably. After collecting himself, he came back a little later with Microsoft, and we all know how that worked out.
- After being fired from his job because he “lacked imagination and had no good ideas”, Walt Disney failed and went bankrupt with several businesses before he finally founded the Walt Disney company.
So be of good cheer and let not your heart be troubled. If you want it bad enough, and you are willing to keep trying as long as it takes, you can have it.
Do you have any inspirational success stories to tell? I would love to hear about them in the comments.

Stop Reading This And Get To Work

I was just thinking today about all of the ways a professional blogger and internet marketer can get distracted. Facebook, Twitter, other blogs, television, radio, you name it. So, I just wanted to make a short post today and let you know that I want you to stop reading this and get to work on your own blog.
Good intentions without action is useless. So today, I want you to make it a point to do something, anything, positive for your blog or online business and tell me about it in the comments.

4 Habits of Successful Bloggers

For many of us, blogging isn’t only a passion that we thoroughly enjoy, it also represents a nice source of income. But in order to be successful, there are a few key concepts that bloggers must understand. We all know that driving traffic to your blog is key to having any kind of monetary success, but to take it to the next level, we need to master the following:

Effective Time Management
Performing all of the different tasks that have to be done to maintain a successful blogging style takes time and sometimes it is very difficult to fit everything into the time we have. Add to this the thousands of ways to get distracted, and you have just seen the reason why many bloggers fail. It isn’t hard to get sucked into Social Media outlets, like Facebook and Twitter, for hours on end without really meaning to. Bloggers must effectively manage their time in order to accomplish the essential tasks that can make them successful. (Plan you work, and work your plan)

Engaging Readers
One of the main ingredients of a successful blog is its overall relationship and reputation with its readers. They are going to read your posts, click your ads, buy your stuff, leave comments, and generally make or break your blogging success. If your readers think your blog sucks, your income is going to suck. Make sure to engage your readers and let them know how important they are to you. This will go a long way.

Niche Choice
Be sure to choose a niche that you enjoy and are passionate about or you won’t last very long. Readers can easily tell if you are truly excited about your work or if you are just phoning it in. Choosing the right niche in the beginning can go a long way towards solving this. Find one that you can be excited about for the long haul and it will show in your posts.

Mailing Lists
A mailing list is absolutely necessary to remain successful in the blog business. Not only are you going to send out weekly updates, but also a promotion every now and then. It takes work and seems to be a very slow process to build a decent sized list, but once you have it, you will realize that it was all worth it.
Do you know any other habits needed to be successful in the blogging business? Please let us know in the comments.

How to Play Angry Birds

If you had enough hearing endless times how awesome Angry Birds is, and finally decided to download it to your desktop pc of mobile phone, it’s now time to properly learn How to Play Angry Birds, since you might get frustrated learning the controls and gameplay during the first levels.
Before you read the step-by-step guide, let me tell you what is Angry Birds all about. You basically have a small group of wingless in your power, whose main objective is to get back some eggs that have been taken away from them by some weird pigs. Each level is quite different, and different buildings protect the pigs from being hit directly. Ice, Stone and Wood are amongst the “housing materials”. Your main objective as a player is to eliminate the pigs, and to achieve that goal, you posess a giant slingshot, which you use to shoot the Angry Birds to make the buildings collapse and finally destroy the pigs. This is not the only method to destroy the pigs, as some extra weapons can be found along the game, such as stones and explosive boxes. You start with just the red type bird, but different birds get added to your group as you manage to reach advanced levels. Each of these birds have different skills, and work better with certain materials and ocassions. Within the group, there are explosive birds (black ones), bombarding birds (white ones), splitting birds (blue ones), etc. There are also several types of pigs, ranging from tiny to big and from “naked” to “armored” (wearing a helmet/crown actually). Now read below the How to Play Angry Birds Guide to smash those pigs right away.

Angry Birds Screen and Elements Information

  • You cannot choose which birds to start with, these come by default on each level/chapter
  • The only way to reach the next level is by killing all the pigs, no matter how many Angry birds you use
  • There’s also a score point system, and points are awarded for structure damage and pigs eliminated. You get extra bonus points for birds you didn’t use
  • You can replay the level, in order to achieve more stars. The maximum amount of stars are 3, and you achieve them by getting high score points.

How to Play Angry Birds Step-by-Step Guide

  1. 1
First of all, download the Angry Birds app for the operating system you wish to use, whether it is Windows, Mac, iPhone or any Androir Phone, there are free and paid Angry Birds Apps.
  2. 2
Start launching the birds until you manage to kill all the pigs. There’s always a strat to single shoot the whole building along with the piggies
  3. 3
Keep your finger pressed and pull back, up and down to regulate the slingshot direction.
  4. 4
Lift your finger and let the bird fly. You will see there’s a dotted line path marking the last launched bird, so you can aim better next time
  5. 5
Use each different type of angry bird wisely, since they have unique abilities and the further you go in the game, the harder it becomes if you dont use them properly.

Google AdSense Record Earnings - $5,974

by Lisa Irby

About Lisa

My name is Lisa Irby and I’m a full time Webmaster, blogger, affiliate marketer and author of The Perfect Site Guide – your guide to creating a blog or static website.
I have been involved in affiliate marketing since 1998 and working online full time since 2006.
There’s nothing better than earning a living doing something you truly enjoy and having the freedom to live the life you want.

“So You Earn a Full-Time Living Blogging?”

Nope.
When people find this blog and discover that I make a full-time living online, many automatically assume it’s from this blog.  The truth is, this blog doesn’t make a lot of money.
I make most of my money from my website, 2 Create a Websitethrough affiliate marketing (earning commissions by recommending products and services), AdSense (Google ads), 3rd party sponsor ads and sales of my CSS templates.
2 Create a Website has helped thousands of beginners establish their presence online. I launched it in February, 2002 and it has been going strong ever since.
At the time, there were very few sites that explained the entire website creation process from start to finish and catered to beginners.
My goal was to break down the instructions in laymen’s terms so people wouldn’t feel so overwhelmed and lost in techie speak.
It’s still amazing to me how a very simple site grew into something that has allowed me to work for myself since 2006.  So here I am sharing my advice with the world.
On this blog you’ll find a selection of articles related to creating, promoting and monetizing blogs and websites.  I also do video Site Reviews from time to time so check them out!
You can keep up with this blog by subscribing to its RSS feed orfollowing me on Twitter.  I can also be found chatting it up on YouTube or administering my forum, WebsiteBabble.com.

About My Success

I’ll be the first to tell you, I’ve made tons of mistakes out here. I still make them. But I’m extremely grateful for every failure because without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
It’s less about the destination and more about the journey.
I created several sites that failed.  Many of them were anonymous sites that attempted to get too much without giving anything of value.
What really turned things around for me was when I focused on genuinely helping others and added the human component to my website.  I wanted people to know there is a real person behind 2 Create a Website.  So I started doing YouTube videos and adding more of a personal touch to my writing.
People began to relate to me in a way they never had before.  It added to my credibility and ultimately my earnings.  I learned that the ability to connect with people is huge when it comes to online business.
All posts at 2 Create a Website (except where noted) are written by Lisa Irby.

10 Notable Personalities of YouTube Viewers

YouTube Personalities
You don’t have to create videos to know that the YouTube crowd is different than other social sites.  Because YouTube makes it so easy to be anonymous, it opens the floodgates for trolling, immaturity, and all kinds of shenanigans that I’ll address below. :)
I thought it would be fun to highlight a few YouTube profiles that I’m sure we’re all familiar with. Please know this is all in fun.  So if you’re lacking a sense of humor,  you might want to skip this post.
Also, I used the word “guy” for effect, but of course women are just as capable of fitting these profiles.

1. Captain Obvious

Almost every video maker has uploaded at least one video with a glowing visual error that is obviously too late to correct or do anything about.  Never fear, Captain Obvious is here to bring that boo-boo to the forefront!
Yes, I see the unidentified debris on my shirt. Thanks for making sure everyone else does too. Smooches!

2. The Interpreter

This is that guy who comments on your video with nothing more than a summary of what you already said.  Hey, who needs closed captions when you have commenters like this? :D
Seriously, though.  Just as some people like hearing themselves talk, I think some people like seeing their own comments.

3. The Background Checker

I understand why people buy screens or film in front of blank walls. Sometimes my office furniture in the background gets more attention than me!
I swear, Samsung ought to give me a referral fee because I’m quite sure I’ve referred a few 24″ monitors based on the questions and comments I receive about it. :)

4.  The Corrections Officer

This guy gets a kick out of finding fault and loves to let you know about it.  From your pronunciations to the fact that you pointed to the left when you meant the right.
No matter how insignificant, you better believe this guy is ready to act… locating and correcting all mistakes in a single bound! </End cheesy Superman reference>

5.  The Political Pundit

This is the guy who takes every opportunity to make the video message political.  I’ve seen some of the most inspiring videos that have nothing to do with politics, turn into the ugliest war of words between Democrats and Republicans.

6.  The “Topic”ally Challenged

This one can also apply to blogs, Facebook, etc.  Rest assured there will always be that one person who posts a comment that has absolutely nothing to do with the video topic.  These are often the same people who get angry at you for ignoring their comments.

7. The Jumping Jack

This impatient commenter jumps to ask a question that will be answered later in the video.  I often enjoy reading the “colorful” replies generated by several annoyed viewers who can’t understand why he didn’t wait to see if this question would be addressed.
I must admit.  As a video maker, I often enjoy seeing the backlash this guy generates. <Insert evil laugh here.>

8. The Lobbyist

He likes to rally everyone around his comment by asking for  a “thumbs up”. I guess seeing a comment earn the “Top Comment” accolade underneath the video is just too irresistible for some. ;)

9. The Stand-Up Comedian

I don’t care how serious a video is, there will be at least one person who tries to make light of it by cracking a joke.  He usually means no harm, but is often a Lobbyist in training.
I will never forget the person who asked one video maker if she recorded her video with a calculator because the quality was so poor.  You gotta admit, that is pretty funny. :D

10. The First Responder

You know exactly who I’m talking about.  This is that guy who likes to announce he is the first one to comment.
He’s easily identified because his comment says nothing but “First!”  Seriously?  I guarantee he is that kid who will race you for everything!

I’m sure there are more.  Can you think of any I missed?

“Why is it So Dang Hard to Make Money Online Today?”

Girl on LaptopWhen I sift through my overflowing e-mail inbox, the title of this post represents a popular question I often receive. Or it may go a little something like this…
I don’t get it, Lisa. I’ve followed your advice. I add content everyday, did some guest blogging, optimized my site for SEO but I still find it hard to get noticed and make money. Why won’t people visit my site? What was your secret?
If you’ve been following me long enough, you know by now there are no secrets. Of course, hard work was a key component of my early success, but timing was another major one.
Does that mean Internet / affiliate marketing doesn’t work today?
Heck no! It just means you’ll have to work 10 times harder to deal with the saturation of “experts” online.
When I created my first website in the late 90′s, the only people who had websites were the ones who either took the time to learn a bit of HTML (or an editor like HomeSite, FrontPage, etc.), or the people who paid someone to create a website for them. There were no fancy tools like Artisteer or Thesis to ease the learning curve.
Today things are much different. While blogs and CMS tools are cool, easy and convenient, they’ve leveled the playing field a bit. Anyone can build a website in seconds and become a so-called expert on any topic they choose.
This is great news for people looking to build a quick and easy website, but it also means there is an incredible amount of competition for almost any niche that exists.
The search engines, social media and bookmarking sites are flooded with self-proclaimed experts writing about the same topics, and it seems to be getting harder to find much originality across various topics.
People’s attention spans are shorter than ever, and they are overwhelmed with all the redundant content on the web today. Mediocre content just won’t cut it anymore. You’ve got to bring it and show why you’re worthy of being followed.
It’s easy to get frustrated with algorithm updates and it may be hard to shake the feeling that Google is against you, but I can only imagine how difficult it is for any engine programmer to ensure the “best” sites are ranking well. You can only expect the tweaking and yo-yo rankings to continue.
Now, having said all that, what can you do to make your site stand out? How can you build more direct, loyal traffic so you won’t be as dependent upon Google and their ever-changing algorithm?

10 Questions You Should Answer

1. Look at the majority of articles on your site and ask yourself, Can this information be found easily by going to Google?” And if so, what kind of spin have you put on your topic to make your site stand out?
Does the web really need another generic AdSense or SEO article? Instead of regurgitating these same old facts, why not develop a revealing post sharing your mistakes and/or experiences.
Any new milestones? What mistakes did you make? What did you learn? How can you turn this into a helpful, more interesting article.
2. Am I a leader or follower? In other words, are you often the first to report any news in your niche, or do you just paraphrase what the popular sites are writing about?
You don’t always have to be first, but at least add your own spin or additional information that makes your content personal and engaging.
For example, instead of just reviewing the iPad2 like 20 million other people did, create a video showing how you use one of the apps to conduct business online.
3. Am I doing anything to keep people coming back? (Regular updates, contests with meaningful prizes, etc.)
4. What does my audience REALLY want and need? Are you really in touch with what your audience wants to know regarding your topic or are you only assuming what they want?
Visit other forums and blogs (read the comments too) in your niche to get an idea for what people are talking about. Use Google Trends to see what’s trending. You may envision the best way to deliver and arrange your content, but what is your audience actually saying? Is there a disconnect or gap that needs to be filled?
When I first created 2 Create a Website in 2002, I focused on teaching how to make money with a website because that is what I was trying to do.
However, after using Survey Monkey, I discovered most people who arrived at my site just wanted a personal site for themselves or family.
In other words, I was trying to force feed information people weren’t asking for. So I had to adjust my content to fit what my audience wanted. Instantly, my bounce rate and page view per visitor improved.
Don’t be afraid to poll or survey your audience. Also encourage feedback via e-mail. Ask people how you can help them. If you get several of the same requests, that’s a good indication of what you should write about next.
5. How can I take my content to the next level? Conduct an experiment and display the results. Interview someone interesting in your niche and ask unique questions. Create a case study on a related product you’ve purchased and don’t be afraid to say what you DON’Tlike.
6. Is my site lacking personality? Do you talk AT your readers instead of TO them? Remember, the most important word you can use on your site is “you.” Personalizing your content can have a dramatic impact on your content flow and audience engagement.
7. Does my site appear credible? People want to know what makes you the authority on your topic. Are you really walking the walk? If you’re telling someone how to make money online, why would they believe your tips or buy your products if you have no proof you are succeeding?
Use real-life examples and case studies to build credibility, create compelling stories and illustrate why people should trust your content. This goes for any niche, not just the “make money online” arena.
8. Am I really an expert on [topic X] or did I just choose this topic because I am mildly interested and saw someone else succeeding with it?
If you’re faking it, people will know it. Why not write about something you really enjoy or care about? Almost any site can make money if there’s enough traffic thanks to 3rd party ad sales, AdSense, selling your own product, etc.
Plus, you’ll have so much more fun in the process. Trust me, I’d never be where I am today if I didn’t enjoy what I do. Too many of you have turned this into a job out of desperation for money.
While needing money may be motivating to some of you, for most people it typically leads to frustration and boredom. As I’ve always said, you need to find something other than money to motivate you.
9. Have I developed a brand? Is my site known for anything online? For example, many people affectionately refer to me as the “The woman who keeps it real when it comes to making money online/affiliate marketing.”
If you’re known as that “anonymous person who paraphrases content and never has anything original to say” that could be a sign you need to work on developing a brand for yourself and your site.
10. Is this even for me? It’s tempting to choose AdSense and/or affiliate marketing because people you admire are succeeding with it.
But is this method really for you? Many of you are trying to emulate sites and people you admire when you don’t even have an interest in the work that is required to succeed.
If you hate writing then why are you trying to be a content affiliate marketer or professional blogger? If you’re not a salesperson then why are you joining MLM programs to hard sell people?
A big part of being successful is finding a business that aligns with your skills. You don’t have to be an affiliate marketer or AdSense publisher to make money on the Internet.
You could try selling items you create on eBay, become a freelancer, develop a niche YouTube channel. The key is to find something that fits your individual skill set.
I have always enjoyed writing. I wrote my first short story at the age of 10. And as far as video goes, any friend or family member will tell you that I have always loved being in front of a camera. So what I do online is merely an extension of what I’ve always enjoyed in my real life.
Can you say the same?

Time to Get Real With Yourself

I bet if you seriously address the above points, not only will your site improve, but they may cause you to examine your approach and goals.
I know many of you are frustrated with AdSense and the lack of clicks. Some of you don’t understand why you don’t have more traffic.
Perhaps you were bitten by the Google Panda and you feel like you have to start over. You may have even questioned if this “Internet marketing thing” still works.
These days, this business is so much more than just throwing up content on a blog. Don’t underestimate the amount of lackluster, redundant content spread across the web.
People are inundated and overwhelmed with mediocre sites, and it takes a lot more to get and keep their attention.
Think about websites you follow religiously. There’s a reason you are so loyal to them. Maybe the site is funny? Creative? Perhaps it delivers the news first. Does it help you learn a new skill? Adopt some of these strategies to generate that kind of loyalty for your own site.
I think blogs are great, but their convenience has fooled a lot of you into thinking that the work stops after publishing. If you want to succeed in 2011 and beyond, learning how to think outside the box and establish a brand for yourself and site is an absolute must!
I hope this blog post is the kick in the pants you need to get rolling! ;)
